Bergenia cordifolia 'Dumbo'

Botanical Name- Bergenia ciliata 'Dumbo'

Common Name - Pigsqueak or Heartleaf

Description -This species of Bergenia is very unique, the large rounded leaves (think Dumbo sized elephant ears) are covered on both sides with soft, downy hairs. A new collectable variety which has short pale pink flowers which darken with age.

Flower Time -Spring, Summer

Size - Grows to 30-40cm high x 30-60cm wide.

Use - Low growing plant, ideal for shady borders, under trees, down the south side of homes & clustered in perennial borders or container gardens.

Position - Shaded to part shaded position. 

Maintenance - Can be easily divided in early spring. This species is semi-deciduous and will in colder areas will die right back for the winter.
