Description
A low ‘shrubby’ Salvia which has great tolerance of our hot, dry conditions. A stunning display loved by the birds and bees. Flowering for a long period, this is a great addition to your garden giving a mid-range plant for your perennial boarder. Anthony Parker is an excellent garden performer with spectacular dark purple flowers throughout late spring to late autumn. Thriving in hot dry conditions and requires little care once established.
Flower Time Anthony Parker has long whorls of dark purple flowers. Continuous blooms appear during late spring to late autumn.
Size Grows to 1.5m high x 1.5m wide.
Use - Quick growing shrubby Salvia which gives long lasting colour for many months. An excellent addition to the mid perennial boarder. Ideal for mass plantings. Anthony Parker will flourish and bloom to create great beauty which attracts complementary remarks.
Position - Performs best when grown full sun to part shade conditions.
Maintenance – Very hard though deep watering is recommended during extended dry periods. Apply a slow release fertilizer after pruning in spring. Dead head throughout the year to encourage more flowering. Tolerant of frosts of around -2oC, reshooting in spring. Cover the roots with mulch during winter for the cold and summer for the dry. Cut back hard once your frosts have finished in spring.
