Botanical Name – Salvia x guaranticia ‘Costa Rica Blue’
Common Name – Anise Leaf Sage
Description –A taller shrubby form of Salvia which is very useful as a background plant. Large tropical looking leaves, this vigorous Salvia will grow fast giving privacy or hiding that shed. Bird and butterfly attracting.
Flower Time – Large showy purple/blue flowers with purplish bracts has a very long flowering period. In fact in some gardens these flower all year.
Size - Grows to 2-2.5m tall x 2m wide
Use – Suitable for the garden; they are perfect as a back border plant giving colour for a long period.
Position - Full sun to part shade
Maintenance – A trouble-free plant, and is not bothered by insects. Protect from strong winds. This Salvia can be cut back at any time of the year and will rebloom but December to February is the best time. Drought & moderate frost tolerant.
